Capcom uploads Marvel Infinite Pro Tour proposal video by mistake, 'information included was not

Earlier today a Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite eSports proposal video seemingly meant for internal purposes only was accidentally made public.

The nearly six minute video popped up on Director of Licensing & eSports at Capcom, John Diamonon's YouTube page, but was promptly taken down shortly thereafter. It was up long enough, however, for the internet to make a copy or two, and continue to share the information regarding a Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite Pro Tour.

As a proposal, the video outlines a Capcom Cup for MvCI this year, made up of a 16 person bracket. Fourteen of these participants would come from online qualifiers by the end of October, one other would come from a last chance qualifier at Capcom Cup and a final would come from a special invitational tournament.

As for prizes, the proposal mentions a $600,000 Tour prize pool in 2018 alongside exclusive in-game "eSports items" that would be awarded to the winners of special events.

Diamonon took to his Twitter to make a statement about the accidental post, saying, "The Capcom eSports video that was mistakenly uploaded to my YouTube channel was a proposal and the information included was not final."

He then followed up with, "Capcom has lots of exciting esports plans for our fighting games and we look forward to sharing those final details in the future."
