With the team unable to qualify for Overwatch Contenders' first season, Tempo Storm has dropped its Overwatch roster.

An official announcement has not yet been posted, though former players have confirmed their release from the organization. Likewise, Tempo Storm has removed any trace of its former Overwatch team from its official website.

It's been just over one month since Tempo Storm signed new tank player Adam "Beasthalo" Denton and former Fnatic coach Robert "roflgator" Malecki. The Overwatch squad underwent a restructuring in May before the new pickups were added, when former Fnatic, FaZe Clan, and Bench Boys player Erik "TooEasy" van Hoorn joined.

Following a near last place finish in Overwatch Contenders season zero, Tempo Storm went on to place seventh at the Overwatch BEAT Invitational in July. After being pushed out of the upper bracket by Rogue in the first round, Tempo Storm lost to FNRGFE in the lower bracket. The roster has seen some success in small tournaments earlier in the year, but failed to keep up with North America's top Overwatch teams.

Organizations dropping out of competitive Overwatch has been a trend in the past few months, with multiple rosters disbanding ahead of Blizzard's Overwatch League. While some organizations, like NRG Esports and Immortals, are gearing up for a major investment, others, like Evil Geniuses, are leaving the scene.

Overwatch League is expected to kick off later this year. Seven cities have already been secured for the localized league.

Tempo Storm still supports Hearthstone, League of Legends, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, Vainglory, FIFA, and Smash Bros. Melee.
